Random Post - 'Cos I had a spare 5 minutes

Hi everyone -

Just a quick blog 'cos I had a few minutes spare & also 'cos I wanted to try and get a picture 'up' on the church@thevale blog-site. So her goes. This is a photograph looking out of one of the windows of the Dyffryn Suite at The Vale Hotel. All of these cars represent people who have come down to the Health Club on a Sunday morning, ready for a swim or a game of squash, when they should be coming along to our church (only kidding). The hotel is fantastic, it's 4 stars & they look after us like kings & queens, what a great place to have a church service. Bye for now as something is on the telly that I want to watch. As always God Bless - whoever reads this & please leave a comment.

All the Way from South Africa - 24th December 2006

Hi everyone -

It was a great Carol Concert at church@thevale today. We sang lots of traditional carols & some more modern ones. The children of our congregation sang about 3 songs of their own. Joanna (our worship leader) sang a Christmas song that she had written previously.

After the service we ate mince pies & drank tees & coffees (which are not the normal refreshments after our services).

With regards to the title of this blog we were very surprised to have visitors all the way from South Africa. The 5 of them (all members of the same family) were staying at the hotel, whilst they were on Holidays in Wales. It was great to see them & very glad that they decided to have fellowship with us at church@thevale.

It's now 8.00 pm on Christmas Eve so I have to go now to wrap some last minute presents - bye for now & as always please send us your comments.

Thanks & Happy Christmas

Gareth.

Sunday 17th December - Oohh it was great today

We didn't have 'church' today at the hotel instead we had our Christmas meal. It was held at The Future Inn at Cardiff Bay, South Wales, United Kingdom. The food was absolutely gorgeous & the company was great as well. It was great to eat & chat and just have a really relaxed time. Some of the people who attend church@thevale went on to a Ron Kenoly Concert which was being held at Kings Church in Newport, South Wales. Please feel free (as always) to add a comment.

Sunday 10th December

Did i mention last week that the room at the Vale Hotel where we hold our service has been completely redecorated - it looks gorgeous. This week the whole Hotel is 'trimmed up' with loads & loads of Christmas trees & baubles, again it does look really great.

At the Hotel this week we caught a glimpse of the Munster Rugby Union team - they were playing Cardiff Blues in the cup, this very afternoon. My kids who are 10, 8 and 2 are always excited when there's a rugby team about 'cos they get the chance to get some autographs.

Attendance was a little down, Joanna, who led the worship was 'on the wire' - my own technical term for not having picked her songs before we started. Then Suzanna preached the word. It really was brill. Please take a look at our website for photographs of everyone.

We have our Christmas Meal next week & I cannot wait.

See you all soon & as always please please please send us a comment.

Blessings

Gareth

I'm Getting the Idea Now - it's like a diary.

Sunday 3rd December 2006 -

Ok i'm getting the hang of this 'blogging' thing. What follows is a 'report' of our church service on Sunday. Please feel free to comment on any of it.

At church there were 13 people - the worship was led by Joanna Evans, it was held at the duffryn suite, Vale Hotel. The word was given by Bruce ( I am not sure of his 2nd name). It was a great time of fellowship. If you visit our website www.church-vale.co.uk you can see pictues of everyone. The room has very recently been completely refurbished and it looks absolutely gorgeous (although the photos on the website are the old ones, before the decoration)

That's about it for now. Please comment on any of the above points.

God Bless

An Introduction to church @ the vale

Welcome one & all -

Church @ the Vale is a new church initiative located at the Vale Hotel, South Wales, United Kingdom.

We're also new to the 'idea' of blogging - although it does seem a very good one. We will post some comments very shortly.
